If you follow me on Instagram you’l know that I recently made this puzzle quilt from super soft plush fabric. The moment I saw Polly’s quilt shared by Shannon Fabrics I swooned and instantly fell in love. It’s a rainbow! It’s a jigsaw! It’s super soft and fluffy! These are all things that appeal greatly to Mrs Plush and I just had to give it a try. Continue reading “Cuddle Puzzle Quilt: Pieces By Polly”
I have been doing a quilt course for the past few weeks run by Yasmin at Goosey Quilts, it’s a sampler quilt we’re making so we’re learning lots of different techniques. It’s awesome. I didn’t think I’d love quilting quite so much but I do, its appeal to my inner geek has surprised me.
The last class is next week and at the moment I feel like I’m a million miles away from having an actual quilt that me and my girl can snuggle under. I’ve been a very bad student and rebelled against pretty much all of the hand sewing blocks and have free styled my own way. The block above should have been done as a “needle turn appliqué” but I’d rather boil my own head than do all of all of that hand sewing so I machined it instead. I finished 2 machine appliqué blocks today (well my birdies just need some eyes) and then I just have a dresden plate to finish (it’s last… hand sewing remains, ahhhh!)
I’m a bit gutted I used the wrong stitch on the music notes and flowers so it’s a bit messy but ho hum…
So… 1 block to finish, 9 blocks to strip up and quilt, then bias then I’m done, whoop!
So of course, I’m planning the next project before this one is finished (and ignoring the fact I’ve already started another quilt!). Baby Plush *needs* a doll so I bought this pattern from OhSewDollin on Etsy, might try and knock this up over the weekend and avoid hand sewing that dresden plate.
